A key component to the success of prison
ministry is volunteers.
Today there are Christian volunteers just
like you who volunteer to lead Bible studies and
in-prison seminars, assist crime victims, impact
criminal justice legislation, mentor at-risk youth and
ex-prisoners, purchase and deliver gifts to children of
prisoners at Christmas, and provide administrative
support in RMMI's office.
Our desire is to partner with local
churches and volunteers to participate in a special
ministry to the "least of these" in response to Matthew
25:34–40. It is our desire to involve volunteers at all
levels in the ministry and to provide opportunities to
work inter-denominationally, cross-racially, and
cross-culturally.
We believe that crime is not a social
problem, but is a spiritual problem, an issue of the
heart. The only way to really change society is by
helping individuals make lasting changes in their own
lives by committing their lives and values to Jesus
Christ and His Word. Therefore, it is vital that
volunteers live by these same beliefs.

Event Volunteer – at each
event it is very important to have a number of
Christian volunteers available to talk to
inmates. These volunteers would have a broad
range of ministry opportunities, from just being
a friend to praying and leading someone to
Christ.

Event Coordinator – to
coordinate a group of volunteers for and at an
event.
|
|
|
Food Service/Helpers – at
some events special food will be served and
require volunteers to help set
up/cook/serve/clean up.
|
|
|
Married Couples for In-Prison
Marriage Seminars – 3 day weekend event. You
give up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from your
routine and watch God use you.
|
|
|
Hospitality – volunteer
churches to provide meals for special events
outside and inside the prisons.
|
|
|
Instructors – to lead
Christian 12-step Overcomers program.
|
|
|
Angel Tree Coordinators –
to recruit and coordinate volunteer churches to
purchase and deliver gifts to children of
prisoners at Christmas.
